The Neverending Story

I am going to spoil the ending. This story does come to an end. This book and I have a love hate relationship. I love the hero, Atreyu. The main character though, really sucks and he betrays the hero. *gasp*. I did-outloud-when I read it. It broke my heart and brought tears to my eyes. Atreyu was a hero of mine even when I was little, but I had never read the book until my 20s..so I was in for a shock. But I do love love love this book depsite some nonsensical chapters. The illustrations are lovely.

Candles on Bay Street

Yeah, there are going to be *some* lame titles on here..still trying to find my place in books. This one is a girly novel but it was charming...

Unburied

A forgettable novel about ghosts and cathedrals. *yawn*

Asylum

This is the first book I read in Virginia. It was recommended to me by someone who I had a ton of respect for. His name was Vyn and he liked Radiohead and Stone Roses and he liked to smoke and looked like Keanu Reeves. I struggled with what I liked to read for a long time as you can see by my wide range of selection so far. So I was willing to try anything. We were talking about Silence of the Lambs when he recommended it to me. I still own it because it was the first book I picked up after a long hiatus..but the book was weird...not my style.
An interesting note on Vyn though..he borrowed a book from me and up and left one day-my book went with him. My James Dean book i brought with me from Los Angeles that my Dad had bought me. It was out of print by the time Vyn borrowed it. to this day i get very nervous about lending people books. When I read books, they take something out of me and I take something out of them. An even exchange. Its weird. They have such sentimental value for me..and this one had one of the most.
He did leave his GIGANITC folder of cds with me though, so I scored there...still. My James Dean book. *sniff*

Private Parts

So, not a personal choice. A boyfriend of mine was a big fan and asked me to read it. It was pretty entertaining, i must admit. But I am not big into biographies...I am dreamer and I need some sort of fairy tale like charm in my books. Not that I am too good for this one, either..its just not me. :(

Misery

An attempt to get into Stephen King the way I was into "It." Never happened. The only thing I took away from this book was the eclipse that took place..and the preparation that was involved to see one. I had never gone through any trouble to see one and this book made me regret that I had never done it as child.
