Esperanza's Box of Saints

Mhmmhm, now this book. Ooh, this book...I was in awe of it. I loved it so much and I felt like I couldn't recommend it because it was just too much a part of me.
About a woman from Mexico who loses her husband, and then her daughter. This book is witty and silly and also very religious and very mexican. A lot of it also takes place in Los Angeles, and there is even a luchadore. Hmm, I tried to get my mom to read it..that was a no go. I even bought it for her in spanish. Her and I have absolutely nothing in common, it makes me sad.

The Princess Diaries

Truth be told, I LOVE MEG CABOT and I loved the Princess Diaries. She has this way of writing that feels like I am reading something I had written. She's just cute and adorable and she really brings out my teenage years when she writes. I really like her adult fiction, too!

Pigman

I re-read the Pigman years later because I wanted to revisit one of the first novels I read. :) I was still charmed by it, but it seemed really dated. Also, what a horrible name for a book.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

This one was read in April 2002. It was one of Sherri's favourite books at the time. I read it for her and I really really enjoyed it myself. I loved the father, is that terrible? He made me smile. I also really loved the time of the book and the fact that it did place in Brooklyn. :)

Sabriel

This one was a pretty cool teen book. It was pretty dark, I remember that. Wow, I read a lot of teen books, didn't I? :)

Road Taken

This one was good, I wished it stayed on the bookshelves longer. :)

Smart v.s. Pretty

Sherri recommended this one to me and it was really good. :) One of the better chick lit books. It was one that people forgot about though. It came out, we hand sold it we kept it afloat for a while..but in the end, it was just another title lost in bookmaster.
